PavTube ChewTune can help you convert DRM-encrypted media, such as iTune files. The output files will be playable on multiple devices and editable with appropriate software. The program has a nice graphic user interface with a nice color combination. There is a menu entry to change skins, but only one skin is available. The interface language can be changed but only a few languages are supported. The layout leaves no room for doubts because all the elements are properly positioned according to their task in the general process and there are no superfluous visual items either. All this contributes to this tool’s usability, which is a blessing because there is no accompanying help documentation.
There is no much difference in converting with this software compared with similar applications. As it supports batch conversion, you should start by adding files to a list. The program supports adding individual files as well as complete folders. Unfortunately, the program generated errors when importing some theoretically supported files. There is no way to preview or edit the imported files before actually converting them either. In order to help you select an appropriate target profile, these have been organized into groups. These are described by the device brand, target software and type of media. The list of profiles is fully customizable and you can simply hide the profiles you are unlikely to use. However, if you would like to use a completely personalized profile, you are also allowed to do so. In addition to converting between video formats, the program also lets you to extract audio from video and merge various files into a larger one.
In general, PavTube ChewTune can do what not all converters can: converting files protected by DRM. Therefore, this is its main advantage. However, if you need to convert regular unprotected media files, perhaps you should look elsewhere. Let me tell you there is excellent software available for this purpose.
